Fruits and vegetables … and fashion?

Anya Hindmarch, known for her luxury designer handbags, has created a new line of clothing and accessories that will be featured at her own greengrocer’s store at the Village in Knightsbridge.

The store will be only open for one month, but it will feature high-style items for sale as well as creative activities for those who fancy fresh produce.

“I always loved the idea of the #AnyaVillage being a real community and having all kinds of things pop-up that you would normally find in a village,” Hindmarch noted on Instagram. “It feels apt to reimagine the essential fruit and veg store for our type of village.”

There will be, as expected, a range of fun and colourful items – at luxury prices – all bearing the Hindmarch brand. They include white T-shirts featuring produce with retro sale promotion prices on them (for example “Broccoli Poodle” and “Peachy Keen” £7.49 and £6.99) but the shirts cost £69. There are hats, charms, pouches and a large fruit basket tote for £360. And there are also several customizable fruit boxes that can be pre-ordered for gifts.

Perhaps the best feature of the greengrocer store is that it will be host to fruit-carving workshops for children and adults with Nasmia Khatun from Fruitima. Those who participate in the classes can take home their creations.
