Jazz Apples again will greet swimmers that finish Bournemouth pier event this summer

Produce Business report

The marketing team behind Jazz Apples are again travelling across the UK this summer to promote their healthy, tangy fruit. And they seem to find creative outlets beyond Foodies Festivals to do that.

For the fourth consecutive year, Jazz is pairing up with the British Heart Foundation as one of the key sponsors of the Bournemouth Pier to Pier swim.

The event, slated for Saturday 29th June, is an open-water, 1.4-mile swim that features some 1,300 competitors trekking from Boscombe to the pier. In addition to the fun-but-grueling test, Jazz and other sponsors help raise funding for the Heart Foundation.

“It’s wonderful to have Jazz Apple on board again this year,” Kate Sparks, Senior Event Manager says. “We’re incredibly thankful for all their support and love the atmosphere they bring. This year we have flipped the course round so that swimmers finish on Bournemouth Beach, which we hope will bring an even more celebratory environment for our finishers.”

More than 34,000 have taken part in the event in the English Channel over the past 12 years, millions of pounds raised for research into treatments and cures for heart and circulatory diseases. In the UK, 7.6 million have heart-related problems.

“Together we can help fund groundbreaking research and continue to make medical advancements in this area to save and improve lives,” Sparks says.

The Jazz team will be at the finish line to cheer on competitors and hand out goody bags with T-shirts and Jazz apples.

“We know just how important the Bournemouth Pier to Pier swim is in raising funds to help the millions of people living with heart or circulatory diseases in the UK and it’s wonderful to be involved,” Hannah McIlfatrick, Commercial Director at Worldwide Fruit Ltd. says.
